Public Indictment (00:04.91)
Welcome to the Public Indictment Podcast. I am your host, Pat Williams. This is the inaugural podcast. So we're going to get into some details about what we're here for, man. To talk with you guys, I'm excited to be here. For those who don't know anything about me, I'm a divorce lawyer for a long time, computer engineer. I'm what you call an obsessive fan of sports, basketball, football, primarily. We're not going to be talking about any baseball here. We're not going to be talking about any.

hockey, things of that nature, a little bit maybe, you know, something big pops off, we'll talk about that, but primarily basketball, football, huge fan of music, gadgets, tech, we're gonna wrap about everything, man. I'm not gonna be discriminatory when it comes to subjects. What I am gonna do though, I'm not gonna delve way, way down this politics path. I'm gonna try to keep it light. I'll get enough of the heavy stuff at work and otherwise. So we're gonna chop it up, man. We'll have guests and surprises, a little bit of everything. So.

Glad you guys join me, we're gonna try to do this weekly. We'll have some fun with it. Getting started. We got the NBA Finals coming up. We got the Celtics versus the Mavericks. I was wrong about these playoffs, man. I thought the winner of that Timberwolves nugget series was gonna come out of this whole thing. And one thing I just really didn't think about, at least with the Timberwolves and the Mavericks series, was like who was really on guard? Luka Donjic and...

Kyrie Irvin. I mean, they had Anthony Edwards and they had Jay McDaniel, two good defenders on the perimeter. But at the end of the day, they didn't really have anybody to give them a rest. So if you got Anthony Edwards chasing Kyrie Irvin around an entire day, then you got a situation there where he's not going to be as efficient on offense as he needs to be because he's spending so much time chasing Kyrie around, then you don't really have any ability to switch between the two of those guys. But this Celtic series, man, it's going to be interesting.

You got everybody's talking about Tatum and how this is going to impact him. What happens in the series. But the thing the Celtics have that the Timberwolves didn't have is they got four dudes, man. They got four dogs on that permanent who can guard. They got Derek White. They got Jerry Holliday. They got Tatum and they got Brown. They can switch out on those two dudes. So it's going to be interesting, man. There's going to be some interesting basketball. Love watching Kyrie play. Nobody can guard him. Love watching Luca play. Nobody can guard him, but it'll be interested to see how it goes. So.

Public Indictment (02:25.678)
Finals coming up, I think the first game is Thursday. So I think we're going to get a six or seven game series, man. It'll be fun. I can't wait to see that.

This Caitlin Clark thing, man. I'm not even going to pretend that I was a WNBA fan before all this happened. But the big deal with this Caitlin Clark thing that's been going on lately is how she's been getting hit. This cheap shot, which everybody's calling a cheap shot from Chynneady Carter, is the most recent thing that's happened. You know, she gave her a little shoulder check after the play. It wasn't anything where you have to worry about a player getting hurt or anything like that. And I'll tell you what I don't want to hear though. What I really don't want to hear is people saying,

Well, you know, you didn't see what happened before. Like Caitlin was talking junk to her, pushing her around. And I've seen like the previous plays, like I'm not going to sit here in front like I watched the game from the beginning, but I've seen there's a, there's some clips of the kind of plays that led up to it. And it's really, you know, yeah, there's some fighting for position there. I think there's one play when Caitlin's like trying to get positioned on the basket and she's like pushing her around a little bit. Caitlin talked a little trash to her. All of that man is not.

really, you know, you losing your cool if you're giving somebody a shoulder check away from the ball or an inbound play. I'm just saying. So that was uncalled for, but it's really not anything where, you know, we need to be alarmed about like NBA players been doing shady, dirty plays like that for years, man, like away from the ball. You got Draymond Green stepping on people's chests, choking, you know, Rudy Gobert and things like that.

So none of that is in the game, man, but it's not, it's nothing abnormal what we need to be talking about it. What it is, she's getting Hayes, man. Like they're giving her hard files. They're basically saying, look, you knew everybody's talking about you. We've been here for a long time. The league has been here. You haven't proven yourself on a WNBA level yet. You're getting million dollar shoe contracts while the rest of us are having to play in the off season in Russia. So.

Public Indictment (04:29.294)
That has to make them angry, I get it. But you can't shoulder check people before the ball is inbounded. And the relationship between Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark is gonna be interesting. It's driving traffic. At the end of the day, anybody or anything that happens to Caitlin Clark is driving traffic right now. But I hope these women figure out that Caitlin's good for the league.

She's gonna help all of them get bigger bags. And that's what's important. Next up, man, I wanna talk about, I don't wanna make this all about sports because there's so much going on in the world outside of sports that is important. Not even from, I'm not preachy, you know, I'm not gonna get up here and tell you guys politically this is what you need to do or anything like that. But Tesla, let's talk about Tesla, man. You know, I like the cars, I like the tech in the cars.

And if you follow Tesla, you know, they don't do a lot of advertising. Like you don't see Tesla commercials on TV. You may see an Instagram ad every now and then that says, Hey, we got these new shiny colors or, you know, this, this model of our car is getting remodeled or look at our car drive in the desert. That kind of stuff, but you don't really see like extensive advertising doing my usual Instagram scroll the other day. And I saw this ad.

And it was a robot. It was a Tesla robot. And you may have seen the Tesla robots when they were announced. I mean, it was basically one of those things where, okay, I got the programming of this robot good enough where I can make it walk out on stage to make you think it can really do some things, but it can't do anything, right? So the ad is basically the Tesla robot sitting at a computer and it's basically giving you information about how to vote. So.

about a shareholders vote that's coming up from Tesla on June 13th. And you may not, let me give you some details on the background, because you may not know what the significance of this vote is. Elon Musk basically had a compensation package that he got from meeting certain goals. And that package ended up totaling about $56 billion. Not a small chunk of change. A Delaware judge found that package to be excessive.

Public Indictment (06:52.846)
And one of the reasons for finding it to be excessive is there was a dispute about how much information the shareholders had initially when they voted for this package. Essentially, they're basically saying that we didn't know, like we knew he had to meet goals to get $56 billion, but we didn't know that these were goals that everybody expected him to meet. Like we thought he would have to work for these goals. I mean, that's the gist of it. I'm taking some liberties with it, but that's the gist of it. So, package got shut down.

And now Tesla's trying to re -institute it, or Elon's trying to re - whoever's pushing the buttons over there, they're trying to get this package re -instituted. And so they're having a shareholders vote on June 23rd. And it was a multi -page Instagram ad. The first page of that ad said, ways to vote by Optimus. Optimus is a robot. The second page of that ad.

interestingly enough, says things to vote for, and then it has things that are highlighted below that are things to vote against. And I'm sitting here thinking, I don't recall seeing a paid advertisement that tells you how to vote on a shareholder vote. Like, what is that? But anyway, reading on, what do we vote for? I mean, there's...

five things you should vote for, and there is seven things that you should vote against. Among the things that you should vote for is the election of class two director, Kimball Musk, who's Elon Musk's brother. I don't know anything about this guy. I'm not gonna sit here and say whether you should vote for him or not, but that's one of the things that Optimus the robot says, if you're a Tesla shareholder, you should vote to make Elon's brother, remember the board of directors.

number two of things to vote for is advisory approval of executive compensation. We know what that is. That's this $56 billion executive package that Elon wants you to approve. And number three is the re -domestication of Tesla to Texas. The reason he wants to move to Texas is because he's pissed with the Delaware judges for saying, dude, you get paid too much.

Public Indictment (09:20.942)
So it's fine, whatever. So those are some of the things that Optimus the robot, it says if you're a Tesla shareholder, you should vote for. Well, what should you vote against as a Tesla shareholder? Well, director term reduction. Okay, I mean, you know, I don't know how long their director term is, but hey, maybe you want directors to serve a long time. Anti -harassment and discrimination reporting, vote against that.

Not a good look. No. Vote. Definitely don't want to vote for that. What the hell? Freedom of association and collective bargaining policy. That probably has something to do with unions. Don't want unions. Electromagnetic radiation reporting.

Hmm. I don't know enough about lithium ion batteries to say how much radiation exposure there is when dealing with those types of batteries. But Tesla don't want you, don't want no reporting on that. So yeah. What I find interesting about this outside of the fact that it's vote against anti -harassment discrimination reporting and whatever this radiation issue is,

is this dude is literally spending Tesla advertising dollars to get shareholders to vote for him to make more money. I find that interesting. That is gangster and not in a good way. Like I don't want to, it's not a situation at all where I'm saying that's something you should do. That is gangster in a horrible way. I'm going to use Tesla advertising dollars to run an ad campaign.

to convince my shareholders to pay me more money. I should try that at my job. Let's run an ad campaign.

Public Indictment (11:22.638)
for the purpose of increasing my salary.

I don't think that's gonna fly.

We're going to be right back.

Public Indictment (11:46.638)
Welcome back to the public indictment podcast.

where we chop it up about a lot of stuff, man. We're going to chop it up about everything. We talked about Kaylin Clark, the NBA finals, talked about Tesla and this crazy advertising campaign to tell you what to vote about. So we're going to move on to the next segment, which is what I like to call. Pay that man his money.

Public Indictment (12:18.542)
All right, so we're gonna talk about some big contracts and sports It happened recently a big deal. This happened most recently is Justin Jefferson signing a four -year 140 million dollar contract 110 million guaranteed 86 million due at signing So Justin got the bag man Justin got the bag

And I like Justin, man. Justin's a good player. Glad to see that he got it. And I hope that he continues to stay healthy and perform, man, because that dude, he's a best route runner in the league. Popularized the gritty. That's worth some of the millions by itself, man. Everybody's gritty now because of this guy. But the real story to follow from this is how this Justin Jefferson contract sets the wire receiver market. And I'm looking right at you, CD Lam.

Cause I'm an Eagles fan, but I'm telling you right now, CD Lamb deserves the bread. This dude's career is like an exponential curve. Every year he gets better. He's got that short area quickness. He didn't even gotta be fast because he beats you so quick off the route. And the Cowboys don't have any other weapons, but then they also have to sign Jack and then they also have to sign Micah Parsons.

and all those dudes want top of market money. This is great. I love to see it.

Then you think about it, Dak is up for re -signing. He wants to hold back. He got the hold back before, but he wants to hold back. He wants to be paid like these huge contracts he's seeing from Justin Herbert and Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson. He wants that. I guarantee you he wants that. That's why there ain't no deal. So, especially Justin Herbert. Like, I mean, I love Justin Herbert as much as the next man, but this dude from a playoff of...

Public Indictment (14:20.366)
success perspective is really right there with that. So you got that most top of the market and then you got Michael Parsons coming up. Michael Parsons deserves all the money. As a pass rusher, Mike Parsons deserves all the money. So you got three dudes looking to get paid top of market and you don't really have cap space like that. Next up, we got my man, Tai Lu who got paid.

Ty Loo got five years, 70 million coach of the Clippers. I'm not gonna spend a lot of time on Ty. I'm glad he got it. And I don't really wanna hear anybody try to say that, what has he done with the Clippers? Because at the end of the day, what have the Clippers done for him? Like Kawhi Leonard's been hurt every season, or between him and Paul George, one of them has been hurt. They haven't played together for any amount of time for Ty Loo to be able to work with anything. And don't feed me any crap about.

Tai Lu is a good coach to be able to win without those dudes because at the end of the day, you don't win without one of your two best players. When your two best players get hurt, you're losing. That's what it comes down to. So, countless examples of that. So, Tai Lu, good job, man. Glad you got the money. And then you got Jalen Waddle. Three years, 84 .75 million, 76 guaranteed. I'm glad Jalen Waddle got the money.

But what are the Dolphins going to do? Because you got him and Tyreek Hill getting paid near top of market. Now this is a deal that's kind of on the low end for Jalen Waddle. And Jalen Waddle, man, I feel like every time I watch Jalen Waddle play, like, he's not finishing games. Like, it's a hamstring, it's something. I mean, I looked at the stats and it's like he played 14 games. But my son, who you'll hear from a lot, Mason's funny, man.

That's my youngest son. He's 11 years old. He's a huge, I made him into a football head to the point where it's like out of control. He's a Dolphins fan. So we'll hear from him kind of on that Dolphins front a little bit. It's going to be interesting to hear what he has to say about Waddle. I'll just say that. But Waddle got paid good form, man. I hope he stays healthy. He's exciting when he's healthy, but he's one of those players who I feel like is just not on the field sometimes. So at the end of the day, hopefully that pans out for him as well.

Public Indictment (16:39.918)
I'm not going to belabor this point much man because everybody's talking about what's going on with Diddy. I will encourage you all if you have not. I do this because I'm just a nerd. I don't read, like if you hear such and such foul lawsuit against somebody else, like most people aren't reading the pleadings. I'm reading the pleadings. Like I want to know all the allegations. And so I encourage you guys to read the pleadings from the Diddy cases, obviously, because it's just,

Like, I don't know how you come away from those pleadings thinking that, I mean, I can't wait for those pleadings thinking you could pretty much tell me anything you want to tell me about Diddy. And I will believe it at this point because this dude, man, is out here, wowling, wowding out. So that's just, that's all I'm gonna say about that. But I'm bringing this up for one thing.

And I don't, I don't want to delve too far into the Drake Kendrick Lamar beef, cause I'm sure all you guys have heard all you want to hear about that beef for weeks. And it's kind of died down, but the one line from Drake that kind of let me know this battle. I mean, many people thought I was over before, but the one line from Drake that let me know not only that the battle was over, but that Drake just did not have any type of proper perspective. Like as to what to say, like what the public would hear and be like,

Drake, what'd you talk about? Is when that dude said, and I quote, if I was effing young girls, I'd have been arrested. I'm way too famous for this blank you just suggested. What? What are you talking about? What are you talking about, Drake? What are you actually saying? How many examples of people famous,

rich people do we need for you to understand that that line makes absolutely no freaking sense.

Public Indictment (18:48.462)
You got Diddy out here, shooting people in the bathroom, bringing...

allegedly underage women and prostitutes from all over the country. Just randomly groping people, beating the hell out of women, and he's able to buy his way out of all of them.

If you listen to Shine, he's shooting people in the club, he can buy his way out of that.

But you too famous to have been with underage girls. And I don't know if you've been with underage girls. I'm not even gonna try to imply that you have outside. I mean, yeah, there've been some cringe moments you've had with women. I get that. But that line is just out of touch, bro. Like, you remember R. Kelly?

You remember R. Kelly? He was hella famous. You know how long he got away with that? A long time. And he was famous as hell. He had women locked up in his crib. So, come on, Drake. That's a bad line, bro. I don't know how that made it past editorial review, to be honest with you, fam.

Public Indictment (19:58.926)
And in addition to that, you got these reference tracks leaking for Drake. Two of his popular songs, Jumbotron, Poppin, the reference track showing that Lil Yachty wrote that came out. And then the reference track for Mob Ties leaked. I don't even know the rapper who wrote that. It's a guy named Vory. Excuse my ignorance, I don't know how big Vory is, but Vory wrote that. But...

There's a man I don't care at the end of the day if you use if you decide to use ghost writers what I do care about is don't use a ghost writer and then try to come out here and tell me that you to go I just can't get down with that man.

All right. We are back. Here with my son Mason Williams debuting on Public Indictment. Mason, how are you today, buddy? I'm good. Good, good, man, good. So Mason straight out of school today? Yeah? Yeah. Yeah. All right, so I got two topics for you, man. I've already let everybody know that you're a huge Dolphins fan. Yeah, I told him. I told him about you.

told me you were a Dolphins fan. And the Dolphin News today that I already reported is that your favorite receiver, Jalen Waddle. Actually, it's Tyreek Hill, but okay. All right, well, that's fine. But your second favorite receiver, Jalen Waddle, got the bag today. Three years, $84 million, $76 million guaranteed, Mason. What are your thoughts on Jalen Waddle?

Get in the bag today.

Public Indictment (21:54.062)
He... I don't think he should get paid that much because he doesn't stay healthy a lot, but if he stays healthy, he's worth about... 60 million. You think 60 million over three years would be a more appropriate number for Jalen Waddle? Yeah. What do you mean he gets hurt a lot? So he got some turf in his eye this season and then he was out for like the rest of the year and he also like...

or his leg or something. So what do you mean about how did he get hurt? Hey man, have you ever gotten turf in your eye? Yeah, but I wasn't out for the whole soccer season that I played. So we're going to move on now and we're going to talk about this topic we've been debating for a while, ma 'am. Your quarterback. What's your quarterback's name? Tuatanga Vailoa. Is he a member of the bloodline? What? Is he a member of the bloodline?

No, I don't even think he's Samoan. He's from Hawaii. Okay, this is off topic. Okay, my bad, my bad. The topic today is who's better? Tua, Hunga Vaalua, your quarterback of choice, and Dak Prescott. Who you got, man? I got Tua. Why do you have Tua? Outside of the fact that you are a Dolphins fan, why do you think Tua is better than Dak Prescott? He's a more accurate quarterback.

People only like Dak Prescott because he plays for the Cowboys. I agree with you on that. Those Cowboys fans be obnoxious, man. I don't like the Cowboys fans. Do you like Cowboys fans? Why don't you like the Cowboys? Because they have Dak Prescott on there and Jamal Berry's, his favorite team is the Cowboys.

What are you even talking about? What does Jamal Murray have to do with Dak Prescott versus Tula Tunga Valoa? Because his favorite team is the Cowboys. Is it really? Is Jamal Murray's? Where did you hear that from? Jamal Murray. He said that? Maybe. I think you're making stuff up. I think you're making stuff up. I've never heard anything. Never heard anything about Jamal Murray saying that the Cowboys are his favorite team. Order in the court. Well.

Public Indictment (24:15.278)
Wait, nevermind. You know, I'ma look this up because what I don't want you doing, Mr. Sir, is coming into my podcast, just out here spouting random facts. You better be right. Yes, sir. You better be right.

I don't see any information.

I don't know who his favorite NFL team is, but I'm gonna find out who his favorite NFL team is. And if it's not the Cowboys, me and you, we're gonna have a... Anything else you wanna say, man? Before you get out of here? You can't eat. You're not allowed to eat on the podcast. You cannot eat Applejack's in the bag on my podcast, not allowed. Against the rules. Did I say how two was one of the most accurate quarterbacks in the league?

You did. You said that's why he was better than that. But we're talking about right now, you eating Apple Jacks on my podcast. That's off topic, bro. I know it's off topic, but you don't eat Apple Jacks on my podcast, bro. What kind of co -host are you over here eating Apple Jacks in the middle of the podcast? A co -host. All right, man. Say your piece. Get out of here. Peace. And we have something else to talk about. What else do we have to talk about, Mason? I'm waiting.

Who's better? Tomorrow, Murray? Or...

Public Indictment (25:46.894)
Who? Like, who's better? Jamal Murray or...

Carl Anthony Towns. We don't have to talk about that. They don't even play the same position. So? So? And get out of here. What else you gonna do now? I'm gonna stop this recording.

Public Indictment (26:27.374)
